People who have contracted dengue fever may develop immunity to COVID-19.

Reuters quoted an unpublished study conducted by a Duke University professor, Miguel Nicoleles, that in areas where dengue outbreaks have been recorded in recent years, the spread of the Corona virus is slower.

"This astonishing discovery raises the intriguing possibility of cross-immune interaction between serotypes of dengue virus and SARS-CoV-2," said the American scientist.

According to Nicolelis, people could gain a certain level of immunity to COVID-19 thanks to the dengue vaccine, if confirmed.
